Writers in the Kitchen?
Writers cook? When?  In between chapters?

Writers work fairly close to their refrigerators, hence they develop a special fondness for wandering in that direction when stuck in the middle of a plot twist. Or in the middle of research. Or while coming up with a perfect name for a character. Or . . . well, you get the idea.

Below are two books featuring fond food connections of the writerly kind. I have recipes in both books, as well as in Cookin''N Bookin' Texas Style (click) and in Cookin'By the Book. I must be really good at fooling people into thinking I actually use that room where the refrigerator is located to prepare meals. Ha.
